Mining QXC

How epoch-based mining works, how rewards are split, and using qxminer.

Mining QXC is how you contribute computing work to the network and receive a share of each epoch's reward. This article covers how a worker operates, how rewards are split, and how to join a mining pool.

Workers and epochs

Each mining epoch lasts 10 minutes. During an epoch, your worker submits proof-of-work shares; the more accepted shares you submit, the better your chance of winning that epoch. Only one worker wins each epoch — the winner takes the whole epoch's QXC reward, not a share proportional to submitted work.

You can create a CPU worker (mines right in your browser), a CLI worker using the qxminer command-line tool, or a GPU worker (mines through WebGPU in your browser, falling back to CPU if your browser doesn't support WebGPU). CPU and GPU workers must pass a captcha check, and this check must be repeated every hour. Your account can only hold one active CPU worker at a time — revoke the old one before creating a new one.

Mining pools

Join a mining pool to still get a share of the reward when another member of the pool — not you personally — wins an epoch. In exchange, you pay a pool fee the pool owner sets, capped at 10%. A fee change only takes effect from the next epoch onward, never retroactively. Each account may own only one active pool, and belong to only one pool at a time; when an owner closes a pool, every member returns to mining solo, while fees already earned are kept.

Error codes you may see

  • MIN-03: you already have an active CPU worker.
  • MIN-06: you sent mining requests too quickly, slow down.
  • MIN-18: your worker's captcha check has expired and needs to be re-verified before mining can continue.

Getting started

Open Mining QXC to create your first worker, check your mining status, or join an open pool. You need an approved wallet before you can create a worker.
